More than 75 million American households pay taxes. Meanwhile, the U.S. spends $16.5 billion a year on earmarks. That means each household is paying $220 for earmarks each year. If you can spend that much on earmarks, why not spend $20 to eliminate earmarks and save $200 a year for the rest of your life? Sounds like a pretty smart deal to us.  Every penny goes to eliminating the earmark program.
